Dear All,

The year 2012 comes to an end. I take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to all of you. It was a great pleasure and honor to work together with you.

IUIS is still going strong. Our new journal, Frontiers in Immunology is now widely accepted and the 15th ICI to be held in Milan in August 2013, is perfectly on track. Perhaps my most striking impressions of 2012 were the numerous kinds of feedback I received from young immunologists. In 2012, I had the privilege and honor to attend all four federation congresses, excellently organized by FIMSA in New Delhi, ALAI in Lima, EFIS in Glasgow and FAIS in Durban. I enjoyed them a lot, both for the outstanding science and the warm social activities. Most intriguingly, I was overwhelmed by the extremely positive feedback from young scientists who realized not only the beauty of doing research in immunology, but also the many applications it has for human health. We are clearly approaching our mission of an immunology without borders.

I am looking forward to the continuation of our fruitful collaborations in 2013 and I wish you a Happy Holiday Season and a prosperous New Year in 2013.
