December 2, 2024Gender Equity Committee (GEC)

The IUIS Gender Equity Committee is thrilled to announce the recipients of the 2024 Travel4Expertise Grant! This unique grant-in-aid, designed to promote equitable research opportunities, supports three researchers, providing up to 2,500 USD, with caregiving responsibilities as they travel to learn new techniques and methodologies. These grants enable recipients to manage caregiving costs during their training visits, ensuring that researchers with family or dependent care duties can access vital opportunities to advance their careers. We congratulate the recipients and are excited to see how this grant will empower them to expand their expertise and contribute to the advancement of immunology.

This year’s Travel4Expertise Grant winners are:

  • Amy Monaco, Uruguay
  • Lucia Peirnao, Argentina
  • Kameni Mary Ngongang, Cameroon

We are proud to recognize this year’s awardees, who represent a diverse group of talented researchers from around the globe. Each recipient has demonstrated a commitment to scientific excellence while balancing personal caregiving responsibilities. The funds will support a range of personalized caregiving solutions, such as childcare, companion travel, or caregiving support at home.

Once again, warm congratulations to our winners!
