Robert Koch Awads 2016
IUIS President Professor Alberto Mantovani is being recognized for his pioneering work on the link between inflammation and cancer. This year he has been awarded with the Robert-Koch Prize 2016 for opening up an entirely new field of research on his observations that cells of the innate immune system accumulate around certain cancer foci.
