The IUIS Junior Community presents our symposium titled “perspectives from driving immunological research across the globe”. Immunology is advancing at an unprecedented pace, driven by innovative research across disciplines and regions. The symposium will highlight groundbreaking research from early- and mid-career immunologists worldwide, showcasing discoveries across basic to translational immunology. Beyond presenting scientific findings, we want to share insights into career trajectories to showcase diversity in personal circumstances and career paths. By exploring the diversity of emerging immunological research and the unique journeys of those leading these advances, the symposium seeks to foster global collaboration and underscore vital contributions of the next generation of immunologists. We hope this can give a unique opportunity to emerging scientists to speak at an international conference as well as helping to find networks and role models for our participants.
We are excited to invite early career* investigators who previously submitted an abstract (or are planning to submit one in the late abstract round in April) to express their interest in presenting at the IUIS Junior Community Symposium.
This session will feature selected speakers delivering 8 minute presentations, followed by 2–3 minutes of Q&A. We are particularly encouraging speakers from historically underrepresented groups including but not limited to individuals from rural geography, non-english speaking communities, minorities or visible and non-visible disabilities to apply. Besides the scientitic abstract we will particularily focus “merit according to opportunity” outlined in the motivation letter. If you are interested in being considered for a speaker slot, please submit the following to junior-community@iuis.org until April 10!
- A max. one-page letter of motivation,
- A copy of the submitted abstract (with abstract submission number, authors, and affiliation)
We look forward to showcasing cutting-edge research and fostering engaging discussions!
*see IUIS JC webpage for definition, please note we can unfortunately not cover any travel expenses for selected speakers.
