On behalf of the Federation of African Immunological Societies (FAIS), I’m pleased to inform you that the 10th African Congress of Immunology will be held in Hammamet, Tunisia from the 3rd to the 7th December 2017 jointly with the 14th Annual Meeting of the Tunisian Society of Immunology (STI).
This continental congress, with a strong focus on human basic and clinical immunology, will offer a unique forum for immunologists to present and disseminate cutting edge immunology research of relevance to Africa. The scientific program is aimed to bring the latest developments in immunology research and clinical practice. The general theme of the Congress is “Immunology for a healthy Africa” and all major topics of immunology will be covered during the Congress (Innate Immunity, Microbiota and mucosal immunity, Adaptive Immunity, Immunity against infections, Vaccinology, Cancer immunity, Tolerance and autoimmunity, Allergy, Primary Immunodeficiencies, Immunotherapy…).
Organized under the umbrella of the International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) which will have its Executive and Council Committees meetings on the sidelines of the congress, the congress has also received support from the European Federation of Immunological Socieities (EFIS) which will also hold its Executive Committee meeting on the sidelines of the congress), the American Association of Immunologists (AAI) and the Japaneese Society of Immunology (JSI).
Over 40 outstanding immunologists from all over the world have already confirmed attendance.
This triennial congress organized for the first time in North Africa generated a great enthusiasm among immunologists and young African researchers and as at May 31st, we received 243 registrations and 90 applications for travel grant.
