The International Union of Immunological Societies (IUIS) and its Gender Equity Committee (GEC) are launching a Competition-4-Ideas to improve gender equality, in particular equality in career development support, in access to funding and to other resources at the national and international level.

GEC has set aside $10,000 total to support a maximum of 3 projects. The proposals are expected to outline activities planned by individual national societies or federations to promote and foster gender equality. The awards are meant as seed money for such activities with the expectation that they will continue under new funding. The awards will be announced at the 18th International Congress of Immunology (IUIS 2023) in Cape Town, South Africa, 27 November 2022.

Application instructions

Eligibility: Gender Equality Committees or other groups of national societies or federations responsible for promoting gender equality.

Proposal requirements and instructions: Submit a proposal of maximum 3 pages in length. Include short biosketches of all applicants and a letter of support from the national society or federation. All documents should be submitted as one PDF file to IUIS to the attention of GEC by email at info@iuis.org.

The deadline for submission is 31 March 2023.

Selection of the winner(s)
The IUIS-GEC Committee will prepare a short list and the Selection Committee consisting of the chairpersons of IUIS-GEC together with the IUIS Executive Committee will identify the winner(s).
